My Bio: 

Rachael Barrett has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working with domestic and international organizations, in the areas of health and mental health, healthcare delivery, community development, legal services, criminal justice, and advocacy. Throughout her career, she has been committed to working with entrepreneurial organizations focused on systemic change through education and advocacy.

Rachael has worked as a fundraising consultant, and been engaged with a number of nonprofits in New York, Connecticut, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.  Her core expertise is in the development and execution of strategies to increase revenues from institutional donors (foundations, corporations, and government).

She compliments her core expertise and adds value to any project through prospect research, proposal writing, case statements, business plans, event and conference management, and project management.

Creative and strategic, Rachael is familiar with philanthropic trends, program evaluation and data analysis. In addition to her consultancy, Rachael has also worked at nonprofits in New York City as fundraising staff, including senior-level positions with the International Rescue Committee’s Women’s Refugee Commission and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Rachael is currently affiliated with Orr Associates, Inc. as a Senior Consultant, and is working with a number of clients across the east coast.

Recent Grant Highlights:

Designed and wrote winning application to Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) to fund a multi-partner Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP): $1.5 million, per year, for 3 years. January 2018

Designed and wrote a winning application to USAA Foundation for the Campaign for Inclusive Care: $1 million, one year. November 2017

Yale New Haven Hospital: Secured a multi-year, $3 million HRSA grant. Secured State grants for HIV counseling, testing and referral, secured funding for pediatric dental clinic.
Brooklyn Hospital Center: Secured Nurse Family Partnership grant from City of New York.
Matheny Medical Center of New Jersey: Providing research and proposal writing for a $10 million capital campaign.
Interlude, Danbury, CT: Providing project specific to fund supportive housing programs for individuals with mental illness.

Social Impact:
