Experience does matter. Based on my experience working in this field, I know whether I can deliver what you need.
Rachael Barrett has more than 20 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working in domestic and international organizations, in the areas of health and mental health, community development, legal services, criminal justice, and advocacy. Throughout her career, she has been committed to working with entrepreneurial organizations focused on systemic change through education and advocacy.
Eager to support the mission of nonprofits, Rachael has worked as a fundraising consultant, and been engaged with a number of nonprofits in New York, Connecticut, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. Her core expertise is in the development and execution of strategies to increase revenues from institutional donors (foundations, corporations, and government). With a strong emphasis on prospect research, proposal writing, case statements, business plans, and project management, Rachael ensures that nonprofits can secure the funding to carry out their mission. In recent years, she has gained considerable experience with event and conference planning. For the past two years, she has led the expansion of Philadelphia’s Energy Coordinating Agency’s (a NEUAC member) annual Energy Conference, by increasing sponsorships, attendance and expanding the overall program. She has familiarity with online conference and event management tools.
Complementing her core experience is her ability to work with boards, create operational plans for development departments, as well as event planning and social media strategies. Creative and strategic, Rachael is familiar with philanthropic trends, program evaluation and data analysis. In addition to her consultancy, Rachael has also worked at nonprofits in New York City as fundraising staff, including senior-level positions with the International Rescue Committee’s Women’s Refugee Commission and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York. Rachael is currently affiliated with Orr Associates, Inc. as a Senior Consultant, and is working wiht a number of clients across the east coast.
